The JM Denver Home team held its annual Client Appreciation Party on Sunday, June 25 at Cook Park in Denver, and as always, we had a blast! Approximately 75 clients, family, and friends attended. Guests enjoyed complimentary food and drinks, and we had more than a dozen prizes to give away — things like Amazon gift cards, gift baskets from Kneaders (yum!) and $500 cash. We even had some fun activities like face painting.

I love hosting this event every year! It’s a tangible way to say “thank you” to everyone we’ve served and everyone who has supported and enabled our success. It’s also just a great way to reconnect with people I haven’t seen in a while.

This year was extra special because we sold raffle tickets for a chance to win the prizes. The proceeds from the ticket sales — $250 in all — was then donated to CureSMA.org. SMA stands for Spinal Muscular Atrophy. It’s a genetic condition that robs people of physical strength by affecting the motor nerve cells in the spinal cord, taking away the ability to walk, eat, or breathe. It is the number one genetic cause of death for infants and occurs in roughly 1 in 10,000 babies. The 5 year-old son of one of my husband’s coworkers has the condition.
